JAKARTA - To make bangs should not only follow the latest trend. This is because the final result of the bangs is very dependent on the shape of the face to the type of hair.

Understanding the shape of the face is an important step before deciding to form a bang model. Actually, there are no really standard rules, but there are some guidelines that can help make the final result more proportional.

"In general, a long face is more suitable for a full bang, a wider face fits the cutain bangs or long bangs sweep, and a square face should avoid bangs that are cut straight or split in the middle," said hairstylist Tom Smith, quoted from Elle, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

In the shape of a square face or box, bangs with a curvature or sideways tend to be softer and suitable. Then on a round face it usually matches the long bangs which are slightly split so that the face doesn't look wider.

For those who have a short forehead, there is a special note for determining the bang model. Deeper-cut ponions can help balance the proportion of the face and the more harmonious display.

In addition, Tom Smith also reminded that most bangs models require daily arrangement to maintain their shape.

"It can be as simple as wet a little then blow dry for about ten minutes after getting used to it," he said.

The type of hair also affects each person's bangs cut. Thin hair tends to fall quickly, while thick or curly hair needs more shape and heat when structuring.

Poni is also right on the forehead, an area that is oily faster. Therefore, it is recommended for people with bangs to wash bangs more often from other parts of the hair.
