Not A Singaporean, The Man Who Attacked Ariana Grande Was Imprisoned For 9 Days

JAKARTA - The man who attacked Ariana Grande in the premiere of the film Wicked: For Good in Singapore last week was sentenced. The man named Johnson Wen was sentenced to 9 days in prison in Singapore on Monday, November 17.

This incident took place when the players held a premiere at Universal Studios Singapore on Thursday, November 13.

Through a number of videos shared by fans, an identified man named Johnson Wen jumped out of barricades and ran towards Ariana Grande on the yellow carpet. This man immediately embraced Grande until she was separated by actress Cynthia Erivo.

The 26-year-old is an Australian citizen attending the film premiere. Citing BBC News, Wen turned out to be trying to jump twice into barricades.

During the trial, Wen admitted he was wrong for his actions and told the judge he would not do it again.

It is not yet known whether this is Johnson Wen's first trial during his time being a mess on various occasions. Prior to Wicked's premiere, he had had a Katy Perry concert, The Weeknd, The Chainsmokers, and others.

On the other hand, Ariana Grande did not speak out about the incident even though Cynthia Erivo spoke at the Los Angeles premiere.

"We had some unpleasant things. Tell me, even last week, to be honest," Cynthia Erivo said.

Los Angeles is the final stop of their promotion before the film Wicked: For Good premieres globally.
