Had Refused To Play Film Again, Desta Admits It Was A Little Burdened By Dono's Role

JAKARTA - Desta made a surprising confession that he really no longer wanted to play movies.

However, all that changed when the offer to play the legendary character Dono in the latest film Warkop DKI came to him, an honor he couldn't refuse.

"When we talk about films, actually I personally never want to play movies anymore," said Desta in the South Jakarta area, Friday, November 14.

"Only if the offer to play as a legend that I have idolized since I was a child, it's an honor... Who can refuse like that," he continued.

Desta admitted that he felt very proud and challenged, especially since he was contacted directly by Indro Warkop. Even though he felt burdened, he actually made the burden a motivation.

"The name work should not be a burden. That's my motto. It's a burden, Ndi, to be honest," he joked.

"But yes, it's a burden that becomes a challenge for me," said Desta.

His biggest challenge, according to Desta, is how he can play Dino flexiblely without being caught up in an effort to imitate him exactly.

"I'm afraid it's trapped in something like having to be very similar to the deceased," he concluded.

Apart from Desta, the film Warkop DKI Reborn will also feature the acting of Vino G Bastian, Tora Sudiro, Marsha Timothy, Asri Welas, to Dicky Difie. The plan is for this film to be released in 2026.
