JAKARTA - Entering the rainy season, many people are starting to adjust their vacation plans. Even though the weather is not always friendly, traveling in the rain can still be a pleasant experience as long as it is done with good preparation.

The Ministry of Tourism also gave a number of appeals so that people can enjoy safe, comfortable, and memorable holidays during this rainy period.

The ministry said that the guide refers to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Tourism regarding the Implementation of Safe, Comfortable, and Fun Tourism Activities.

In the letter, it was emphasized the importance of cooperation between local governments, business actors, destination managers, and tourists in creating responsible tourism activities and paying attention to safety aspects.

"The Ministry of Tourism urges people who plan tourist trips during the rainy season, which in the near future will be in the period of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 to always pay attention to aspects of security, safety, and comfort in traveling," the Ministry of Tourism said in a press statement, as quoted by ANTARA.

The public is reminded to be wise in choosing tourist destinations and avoiding locations that are prone to extreme weather, such as heavy rain, strong winds, or landslides.

The use of feasible modes of transportation and having met safety standards from authorized agencies is also highly recommended to prevent the risk of accidents during travel.

The ministry emphasized the importance of seeking information related to destinations before leaving, including operating hours, visitor capacity, and safety rules at tourist sites. By preparing this information from the start, tourists can arrange more efficient travel times and enjoy without significant problems.

In addition, tourists are expected to maintain environmental cleanliness by not littering and supporting the implementation of sustainable tourism in every destination they visit. The public is also advised to take advantage of travel insurance or tourism protection, especially for those planning to visit areas with high risk.

The Ministry of Tourism also encourages tourism destination managers to implement tourism risk management in accordance with Technical Guidelines for Implementation of Risk Management in Tourism Destinations.

Managers are also advised to follow the principles of CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability) and pay attention to aspects of disaster management and visitor management so that destinations remain safe and sustainable.

Before and during the trip, tourists are advised to pay attention to weather information and potential disasters issued by the BMKG, as well as follow directions from the BNPB and the local BPBD.

"Tourists are expected to continue to travel safely, comfortably, and comfortably during the rainy season, and play an active role in creating tough, sustainable, and safe tourism," the ministry concluded.
