Prince Harry Protested Canadians After Wearing Hats

JAKARTA - Usually people wear baseball caps to show support to their favorite teams. But it was a big spotlight when it was done by Prince Harry.

Recently, Canadians were less than happy when Harry, Duke of Sussex, was seen wearing a Los Angeleswas hat while attending the Game 4 World Series on October 28, 2025 atTENting Stadium, Los Angeles.

For many Canadians, of course they hope Harry wears the Toronto Blue Jays hat which is Canada's pride.

In an interview with CTV, Canadian television station, which aired on Thursday, Harry apologized.

"I want to apologize to Canada for wearing the hat. Second, at that time I was in a state of urgency," he said with a smile, quoted from The New York Times page.

"If the upper hair starts to run low and you sit in the spotlight of the bright light, you will wear whatever hat you have," he continued.

Harry, who once lived in Canada, received the apology when he was given the Blue Jays hat while visiting veterans at the Sunnybrook Veterans Center in Toronto.

Canada itself is a former British colony and is still part of the Commonwealth. Even though Canada has full sovereignty since 1982, King Charles III, Harry's father is still the official Canadian head of state.

King Charles' image slowly replaced Queen Elizabeth II in Canadian currency, and Canadian passports were still issued on behalf of the ruling king.

This year's World Series match ended on November 1 with a win over Blue Jays in a dramatic 5-4 match through extra time in Game 7. This is Blue Jays' first chance to reach the World Series since 1993.

However, Harry's apology was not serious. He even called this incident jokingly as the 'Hat Gate'.

Harry, who now lives in Montecito, California with his wife Meghan and their two children, said he was present at Game 4 as a guest for the owner oflies.

"I'm just trying to be polite," he said.

He also emphasized that after the match he had supported the Blue Jays until the end of the draw.

"Game 5, Game 6, Game 7, I fully support Blue Jays. But now I've admitted, it looks like I'm going to be a bit difficult to get back to Los Angeles." he explained.
