Charli XCX Refuses Response Allegedly Insinuated By Taylor Swift In 'ActuALLY Romantic'

JAKARTA - Charli XCX declined to comment on Taylor Swift's alleged satire in the song ActUAL Romantic. The song is included in Swift's latest album, The Life of a Showgirl.

After its release, fans interpreted the lyrics of the song ActUAL Romantic as a form of satire to the singer Guess.

The lyrics read I heard you call me Boring Barbie when the better you get you brave. High-fived my ex and then said you're glad he ghosted me/Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face / Some people might be offended / But it's actually sweet.

This lyrics means to someone who calls Taylor Swift a boring Barbie doll and writes a song about hatred when meeting in person.

The lyrics allegedly responded to the lyrics of Charli XCX's song Sympathy is a Knives which was included in the Brat album. This lyrics reads "Don't know if I'm spiralling / One voice tells me that they laugh / George says I'm just paranoid / Don't care to see her backstage at my boyfriends show / Fingers crossed behind my back / I hope they break up real quick."

The lyrics mean that they don't like seeing someone backstage at the concert of their lover and he hopes they break up soon.

Swift briefly explained the song Actually Romantic about the awareness that someone has a relationship that other people don't know about. He also said this song is like a love letter to someone who hates you.
