Exclusive Clara Bernadeth In Efforts To Release Horror And Drama Stigma

JAKARTA - Clara Bernadeth has dedicated part of her life as an acting career. Starting her acting debut in 2015, this year she has even 10 years as an actress who is recognized as still her growth period.

This year, her name has been emblazoned in two films, one of which is the film Perempuan Pembawa Sisel, directed by Fajar Nugros. This film was shown at the 2024 Jogja Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF) and won Best Editing. Clara plays Puti who is the younger brother of her main character, Mirah, played by Raihaanun.

Puti's character is mysterious, but actually she is a very good character until there is one incident that makes her different. It happened that made her a bitter root. From the start, the woman named Clara Josephine Bernadeth said that her role portion was minimal in this film, but she explained that her role was very interesting and that made her want to join this production.

"My role is actually minor, my screen time is not much, quite a lot is hidden for certain reasons and is left mysterious, but she plays quite an important role in the film Pembawa Sigal," he said.

The actress who was born on August 30 started her career with a comedy film, but it didn't take long for her to get attention after playing one of the drama series on local television. She felt that her involvement in acting was accidental, but in the end she had to commit to making her best.

Seeing Clara Bernadeth's filmography, she plays many horror and drama genres throughout the world of acting. Starting acting accidentally without ambition, she expressed her desire to always explore the genre. He also doesn't want to be labeled more inclined towards drama or horror.

"In the past, I was nicknamed the drama genre because I took the drama long ago, but if I took the project, I didn't want to limit taking the genre," he replied.

"Why do you see many horror films this year, even though some productions last quite a long time, maybe the timing is right this year. The label frees the audience for the horror genre or drama genre, but actually, I take many genres because I don't want a typecast or labeled a certain genre because it affects us as an actor. Clara Bernadeth started her career by accident. He majored in International Relations in the middle of starting his acting. 10 years later, this second child felt he had promised to explore the world he was just involved in. "This industry is quite developed, it could be anything from the director of the writer or producer, so I never cover up what I will be, which is important for the progress of our film industry, to continue to entertain the audience," he laughed.

As a person, acting makes him grow as a character in looking at other people's stories and views. Even though he has been acting for 10 years, Clara Bernadeth still hopes that the Indonesian film industry will be more open to new genres that will later bring Indonesian viewers to get to know more films.

"I feel like playing a lot of roles doesn't mean I don't learn from the role I play. There's a lot of things I can get, any lessons I can get from my character including the Woman Carrying Sialla. Of course, it affects my personal character. I as a human being have a lot of feelings, a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge that I can get from my character, "he explained.

"I've been in this industry for 10 years but you could say some genres I haven't tried yet, for example I'm still curious about biopics. Biopics are quite rare but a genre that I want to try too. Musical dramas, in Indonesia may rarely be made, but I hope the film industry will make more musical dramas more and more.
