Rio Dewanto Meets Mother In Malin Kundang's Dark Teaser

JAKARTA - Come and See Pictures released the first teaser from the film Legenda Kelam Malin Kundang. This film became the directorial debut of two directors Rafki Hidayat and Kevin Rahardjo.

One minute long, this teaser shows Rio Dewanto in Malin Kundant's story with modern adaptation and interpretation. Malin Kundant's story tells the story of a child who migrates to change the fate of his family but sinks into success.

This teaser starts in a small version played by Sulthan Hamonangan leaving the house to travel to the city. He left his mother who was called Amak and promised to come back to pick him up.

The world changed when the adult version played by Rio Dewanto and his harmonious adult life. He has a wife (Faradina Mufti) and loves each other.

The perfect world changed when a mother suddenly appeared in front of them. The husband admitted that he did not remember the figure of the mother.

The scene turned into Rio Dewanto's moments planning something, browsing hidden places in Jakarta, checking the codes tucked into his notes, without any undisclosed motivation.

Produced by Joko Anwar and Tia Hasibuan, the Dark Legend of Malin Kundang will tell the dark, modern version of Malin Kundang's world, but still relevant to society.

We want to refresh people's memories of legendary stories that are very close to society. We hope this adaptation can keep folklore alive and relevant to Indonesians," said Malin Kundant's Dark Legend producer, Joko Anwar.

Malin Kundang's Dark Legend Film will premiere in Indonesian cinemas starting November 27, 2025.
