Perrie Edwards Remembers Relationship With Zayn Malik: Too Young, Not Easy

JAKARTA - Perrie Edwards admits that it is not easy to have a romantic relationship that is in the public spotlight. After almost a decade, the Little Mix member talked about his relationship with Zayn Malik, who had walked for two years until they got engaged.

"Initially, it all looked easy, and I think it started to be difficult of course over time," said Perrie Edwards in the We Need to Talk broadcast.

Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik are participants in the competition X Factor UK. After competing, Perrie began a career with Little Mix, while Zayn Malik was with One Direction.

"We are engaged and about to get married, so obviously we have feelings for each other," Edwards continued.

"At that time, I thought everything we experienced in our relationship was normal because it was my first relationship, my first love. I felt 'Oh, this is what it feels like. A little poison, but this is normal, right?' then I became single, I almost thought 'I don't want something like that anymore. I don't want to see anyone again.' he said.

When the two ended their relationship in 2015, Perrie Edwards felt very sad and even felt criticism from the public.

"I've never been hurt, even criticized in public. I feel embarrassed, strange, sad, and when I go through these various emotions, I feel like everyone is looking at me. It's scary," said Perrie Edwards, who called Little Mix members very protecting her.

It was a reflection when he started a relationship with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who is now the fianc and father of his son.

"I had a lot of problems in my previous relationship that I didn't realize, but now I feel that it's not good. The beginning of our relationship, I faced it differently but he (Alex) faced me well," said Perrie Edwards.

They were blessed with their first child in 2021 and got engaged in June 2022.
