Selling Bags Worth IDR 1 Billion, Ivan Gunawan: Build A Mosque

JAKARTA - Designer and presenter Ivan Gunawan made a surprising breakthrough. He announced that he would sell one of his Hermes bag collections at a fantastic price of IDR 1 billion.

However, what caught the eye more was the purpose behind the sale of these luxury assets.

Ivan emphasized that his decision was based on the desire to be able to do charity and give charity in large quantities.

"Yes, for me, if we want to give charity, do charity, do good, I think about how to do charity, it's big, there's more alms," said Ivan Gunawan in the Central Jakarta area, Tuesday, August 5.

He also revealed that the Hermes bag, which has high value, will soon be sold. He will donate all the proceeds from the sale for the construction of a mosque in Yokohama, Japan.

"So I have a Hermes bag where the bag has value, thank God there is value, and thank God I want to do it, pray. So if you sell well, you can donate it directly to the mosque in Yokohama," he continued.

When asked in more detail, the man who is familiarly called Igun confirmed that he was targeting the bag to sell at a price of nine digits.

"Just one (tas that you want to sell). The plan is for it to sell at a price of Rp. 1 billion," said Ivan Gunawan.

Despite having noble intentions, Ivan surprisingly admitted that selling luxury bags was not an easy matter. He is currently still waiting for the right buyer for the only bag he is selling.

"No, just now (the bag that was sold). It's hard to sell bags. So that's why wait," he said.
