JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Social Welfare Development Council (MPKS) from all over Indonesia is collaborating with the Film Censorship Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (LSF RI) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to hold a national film Watching (Nobar) Assalamualaikum Beijing 2: Lost in Ningxia) at the XXI Cinema The Park Sawangan, Depok.

This activity is part of the National Cultural Movement of Independent Sensors (GNBSM) which carries the theme 'Promoting Culture, Watching Age-appropriate', as an educational effort in increasing public awareness of the importance of watching films that match age classification.

The Importance Of Independent Sensors In The Digital Age

The rapid development of information technology has changed the way people access movies not only through cinemas and television, but also through digital platforms and streaming media. This convenience brings new challenges, namely the increasing risk of exposure to content that is not age-appropriate.

The chairman of the Indonesian LSF, Dr. Naswardi, MM., ME., in his speech said that many internet-based films do not go through an official censorship process. Therefore, people are expected to be smarter in sorting out and choosing spectacles, especially for children. Keep children from elements of violence, pornography, drugs, and other sensitive things," he said.

Appreciation For The Work Of The Nation's Children And Child Protection

Director of Film, Music and Art of the Indonesian Ministry of Culture, Dr. Syaifullah Agam, emphasized the importance of respecting local film works. Indonesia film has become the host in its own country. With the culture of watching, we can respect the work of the nation's children and prevent piracy," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the MPKS Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Dr. Mariman Darto, SE., M.S., appreciated the opportunity to watch this together with orphans. He also hopes that this activity will become a means of cultural and creative literacy for the younger generation, especially through inspiring works such as the novel and film Asma Nadia.

Socialization Of LSF Duties And Public Education

This activity is also filled with educational sessions with Noorca M. Massardi (Vice Chairman of the Indonesian LSF) and Titin Setiawati, SIP., M.Ikom. (Chairman of the LSF Socialization Sub-Commission), who explained the role and duties of the LSF in screening and classifying age-appropriate films.

In the simulation session, participants were invited to understand the process of determining age classification in films and advertisements. This education is important to grow a strong independent censorship culture in society, so that the public becomes wiser in choosing audiovisual content.

The event became even more lively with the presence of Yasmin Napper and Emir Mahira, the main character of the film, and the novel writer Asma Nadia whose work was adapted into a film. Their presence adds to the enthusiasm of more than 400 participants who attended, including social workers from the Muhammadiyah environment.

The Indonesian LSF hopes that this activity can be a real step in forming a critical, wise, and responsible society in responding to film content. The National Cultural Movement of Independent Sensors is not only the responsibility of the government, but rather a collective movement to create a healthy and quality viewing space for all.
