Applying Foreign Film Tariff Increase, Donald Trump: Except For James Bond!

JAKARTA - The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said the James Bond film franchise would not be affected by the 100% tariff increase policy. This franchise takes the British setting to shoot including his latest film.

Recently, Trump set a 100% tariff increase for United States films made outside the US. He made the policy because of the worrying film industry.

"They all live here, the money comes from here, everything from here but they make it in another country, so we're going to do something to bring them back," Donald Trump told The London Times.

Furthermore, Trump stated that James Bond films need not worry because he claims to be a good friend of Sean Connery, one of the actors who plays the James Bond character.

"But James Bond doesn't need to worry, I can say that. You know, Sean Connery is a good friend of mine. Sean Connery is responsible for my zoning in Aberdeen," Trump said.

Even so, The White House released a statement saying, "The administration is developing all options to implement President Trump's rules to maintain the country's economic security and make Hollywood come back."

One of Trump's ambassadors to the entertainment industry, Jon Voight revealed that they have several plans to save the industry, one of which is incentives for production, collaboration with other countries and infrastructure subsidies for theater owners.

At the time this rule was announced, several Hollywood films were going through filming outside America, including Avengers: Doomsday in London and The Odyssey in Italy and Moroko.

This rule is Donald Trump's new move in Hollywood after previously appointing Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight as ambassadors for the American film industry in January.

Of course, the rules have drawn negative responses from the industry, one of which is senior actressfeypi Goldberg who asked Trump not to disturb Hollywood.

'Who do you want to set the tariff for? Production? Studio? What do you mean? This is part of what we made. Please stop. The lowest line is tax incentives. If you want to change, you have to change it from America and make it available so that people want to shoot there. Don't stop us filming outside because you limit us," said Goldberg.
