JAKARTA - Ramadan Runway 2025 is back with a very special feel, carrying the theme 'Night in Egypt'. The prestigious fashion event held by the Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs Association (APPMI) together with Kota Kasablanka brought visitors on a visual trip to Egypt.

This offers an attractive Middle East charm through grand architectural design and a variety of charming fashion collections. According to well-known designer Ariy Arka, this theme selection aims to provide visitors with a different experience.

"The spread with the Middle East theme is normal, such as domes and mosques. This time, we are trying to bring the feel of the Egyptian night market which is rich in warm culture and atmosphere," said Ariy, when met in Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta on Friday, March 21.

When entering the Ramadan Runway 2025 booth area, visitors will be greeted with decorations reflecting the landscape of Egypt's typical night market. From sparkling hanging-light ornaments to luxury Middle Eastern carpets, each corner gives an authentic sensation that takes visitors as if walking in Egypt.

We want to present a unique shopping experience in Kota Kasablanka, like enjoying the night market atmosphere in Egypt. With carpets, jewelry, to various Middle Eastern accessories, everyone is here to perfect the atmosphere," explained Ariy.

One of the main attractions of Ramadan Runway 2025 is the fashion parade of Indonesian designers. Not only showing Egyptian-themed clothes, the collections displayed are still tailored to Indonesian market tastes.

We don't really follow Egypt literally. The design still adapts the needs of the local market to a more modern and contemporary approach. However, there is a touch of Middle Eastern elements that become a highlight in every dress," said Ariy.

The pastel colors are a fixed trend of dominating this year's collection.

Every year, pastel colors are always loved by the public. Even though there is an international color trend, in Indonesia these soft colors remain favorites to welcome Hari Raya," he added.

In addition to presenting the nuances of the Middle East, Ramadan Runway 2025 also provides a stage for traditional Indonesian wastra. Songket Palembang, Batik Pekalongan, to Cirebon Weaving are combined with contemporary design elements that create elegant clothes.

"We are still proud of Indonesia's cultural wealth. This year's fashion collection has carried many traditional wastra, but it is packaged in a modern way to be relevant to the current fashion trend," explained Ariy.

In addition to fashion shows, Ramadan Runway 2025 also presents various interesting activities such as exhibitions, workshops, fundraising pop-up markets, to Ramadan parade sessions. Visitors can enjoy a variety of fashion products, typical Middle Eastern perfumes, ethnic jewelry, to various Muslim fashion collections suitable for celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

"This year we want to give something more diverse. Starting from the choice of fashion for men and women to a special booth for perfume which can be a perfect complement on Hari Raya." Ariy concluded.

This parade will present senior artists such as Arzeti Bilbina, Catherine Wilson, Dian Tanjung, Elmo Hill, Laura Muljadi, Mira Sayogo, Naila Alatas, Soraya Haque, Debby Sahertian, to well-known designer Yongki Komaladi.

Not only that, a number of designers also exhibited their best works, including Abeey, Erdan, Leny Rafael, Dana Duriyatna, Naniek Rachmat, Yoyok, Rryni House, Koyko, Melookmel, Nunok, Dimas Mahendra, Jeny Tjahyawati, Nieta Hidayani, Defrico Audy, Clue, Sisesa, Poppy Dharsono, Tuty Adib, Kunce, and Chintami Atmanagara.
