JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Tourism (Wamenpar) Ni Luh Enik Ermawati or familiarly called Ni Luh Puspa opened the Banten Province Tourism Alert Meeting at the Banten Provincial Tourism Office Hall, Thursday (20/3/2025).

Banten is known for its beach tours that are favorites of tourists, especially during the holiday season. Wamenpar invites tourism actors and Balawista to actively maintain security, cleanliness, and educate tourists in implementing safety protocols when traveling.

"The educational processes for tourists are very important to do. So, we not only act as 'firefighters' but also have to stand at the forefront to educate the public," said Ni Luh.

Ni Luh also emphasized the importance of implementing the CHSE (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, Environmental Sustainability) protocol and encouraging tourism managers to maintain the cleanliness of facilities, including public toilets.

"The Ministry of Tourism has issued a CHSE certificate, this must also be carried out as well as possible. Toilets, please pay attention, together with the Ministry of Tourism we are promoting the Clean Tourism Movement (program)," he said.

Ni Luh also advised Balawistas and tourism actors to strengthen collaboration to prevent illegal levies on tourists in tourist destinations. Thus, the positive image of Banten tourism is maintained and in demand by more and more tourists.

"So, I think we have to overcome things like that together. We can't just leave it to the Governor or through the Head of the Tourism Office, but this requires everyone's support and participation," said Ni Luh.

Reviewing Pandan Carita Beach and Merak Port

After opening the Banten Province Tourism Alert Meeting, Ni Luh continued his working visit to Pandan Carita Beach in Pandeglang Regency and Merak Port, Cilegon.

The goal is to ensure the readiness of services and facilities at Pandan Carita Beach as one of the tourist destinations in Banten and Merak Port as an entry point from Banten to Sumatra and vice versa.

"This Carita has become a favorite destination for the community during the Eid holiday, I also visited Merak to ensure readiness to face a surge in traffic flow because this is the Javanese crossing to Sumatra and vice versa," said Ni Luh.

Meanwhile, Banten Governor Andra Soni expressed optimism that the tourism sector was able to become the locomotive of improving the welfare of the Banten community. Therefore, Andra encouraged the Banten Tourism Office and related parties to collaborate to advance the tourism sector in its province.

"There must be innovation. There must be an intention on how to take advantage of our beautiful nature to be enjoyed by tourists and have a positive impact on the people of Banten," said Andra.
