Minister Of Culture Fadli Zon Appreciates Iko Uwais' Film: Historical Literacy For The Young Generation

JAKARTA - The film 'East' by Iko Uwais received special attention from the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon. Present at the preview session at Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, Fadli Zon called this film a historical literacy media that can build the spirit of nationalism of the younger generation.

The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha and the Presidential Special Envoy for the Development of the Young Generation and Art Workers, Raffi Ahmad. In his remarks, Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of cinema as a tool for historical education and the formation of the nation's character.

"This film is not just entertainment, but also an effective learning medium. East teaches the values of friendship, struggle, and sacrifice that are in line with the spirit of nationality," said Fadli Zon, Friday, March 17.

Fadli Zon emphasized that the government is committed to supporting the film industry, especially those that raise history and patriotism. According to him, films such as "East" have a strategic role in introducing the nation's journey to the wider community.

President Prabowo Subianto encourages more films to raise the spirit of nationality. Films such as 'East' are examples of how cinema can strengthen Indonesian cultural identity, "he added.

Fadli Zon also hopes that Indonesian filmmakers will produce more history-themed films, including the biography of national heroes and important events that make up Indonesia. Presidential Special Entrance, Raffi Ahmad, also appreciated Iko Uwais' work. He considered "East" as proof of the creativity of the nation's children in preserving culture through cinema.

"This is an amazing film. I am proud to see the younger generation working with the spirit of nationalism," said Raffi.
