Procedures, Law, Rukun, And Intention To Implement I'tikaf

JAKARTA - One of the sunnah practices in the last ten nights of Ramadan is to increase i'tikaf in mosques. This is as explained by Sheikh Zainuddin Al-Malibari in the book Fathul Mu'in, launching NU Online, Tuesday, March 4 entitled These are the Three Main Amalants of the End of Ramadan.

In terms of terminology, i'tikaf has the meaning of staying in the mosque accompanied by intention. The goal is only to worship Allah, especially worship that is usually done in mosques. In order to achieve greater virtues, one can certainly increase his variety of intentions, including the intention of visiting and respecting the mosque as a house of Allah, remembering and getting closer to Him, hoping for His grace and pleasure, praying, remembering the last day, listening to religious advice and sciences, associating with pious people and loving Him, and deciding everything that can forget the hereafter.

In a hadith, Rasulullah stated that i'tikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan was like giving'tikaf with him.

Implementing the law is sunnah, but it can change to mandatory if it is fulfilled. In addition, the law can be forbidden if it is carried out by a wife or servant without permission, and becomes chaotic if it is carried out by women who act and invite slander even if accompanied by permission.

Rukun i'tikaf itu ada empat bagi siapa saja yang ingin melakukannya, yaitu;

4. Holy from menstruation and nifas It is illegal for people who are menstruating or postpartum because both are prohibited from staying in mosques, while i'tikaf can only be done in mosques.

5. Holy from the illegal junub i'tikaf who are in a state of junub, because they are prohibited from lingering in the mosque.

In addition to paying attention to procedures, laws, and intentions, you also need to pay attention to things that cancel itikaf, namely;

1. Having husband and wife

2. Use sperm

3. Drunk on purpose

4. Murtad

5. Haid

6. Nifas

7. Out for no reason

8. Out to fulfill obligations that can be postponed

9. Come out accompanied by reasons several times, even though it came out of his own accord.
