Hilary Duff Joins In The Sequel Series How I Met Your Mother

JAKARTA - The CBS comedy series, How I Met Your Mother, will have a sequel broadcast via streaming Hulu. Today, April 22nd, actress Hilary Duff was appointed as the main character in the sequel series entitled How I Met Your Father.

The following is the synopsis: Sophie (Duff) tells her son how she met his father. The story will turn back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her friends are looking for self-care and a love life with dating apps.

It is not yet known whether the series will have continuity with the original but it is certain that the original creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will be executive producers.

Also, Hilary Duff participated as a producer in this series, and 20th Television produced How I Met Your Father.

"As a fan of 'How I Met Your Mother', I feel honored and a little tense that Carter and Craig entrusted me with their baby", said Duff quoted from Variety.

Previously, CBS had plans to make How I Met Your Dad in 2013 and starred Greta Gerwig, unfortunately, those plans didn't materialize.

The How I Met Your Mother series aired on CBS for nine seasons with more than 200 episodes during 2005-2014. The series stars Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, and Alyson Hannigan.
