NewJeans Affirms Contract Ends According To Agreement With ADOR

JAKARTA - Five NewJeans members responded to ADOR's lawsuit against the Central Seoul District Court questioning their exclusive contract status. On November 29, NewJeans announced their contract expired because ADOR did not meet the requirements according to their agreement.

"Hello, Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. We feel guilty releasing this statement in the midst of a situation like this. We just found out from the media that ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm an exclusive contract," said a NewJeans representative.

"ADOR failed to explain there was no contract violation and instead continued to speak that the contract could not expire until the company received support and investment. However, we have returned investment profits to ADOR and HYBE," the agency said.

In South Korea, someone who will debut has investment support in the form of finance to support their training until they debut. When they are successful, they can return the investment to the company.

Even though this happened, HYBE carried out various interventions such as defamation and viral marketing to demean us and ADOR allowed this under the new management. This is the same as companies that make malicious comments against us, artists they should protect," he said.

"According to the conditions in the exclusive contract, there is no reason for us to continue working with ADOR and HYBE. The exclusive contract states that ADOR failed to fulfill its obligations, we have the right to terminate the contract," the members said.

They filed a content certification for 14 days regarding contract violations but ADOR did not respond. They also confirmed that they had not been involved with ADOR since November 29.

Even though they said there was reconciliation, we were afraid when we found out ADOR was secretly following us, defamed us, and spread information through the media. Whatever they do, the five of us stay united and no one can separate, "he said.

After the contract expired, NewJeans tried to fulfill a contract related to the schedule with ADOR but the managers and creative teams had difficulties after their laptops were confiscated by the company.

"Hopefully through a legal process, the reason we ended our exclusive contract and ADOR contract violations will be fully revealed," NewJeans said.
