JAKARTA - The Jogja Walking Association in collaboration with the Sleman Regency Tourism Office again held an agenda with the theme green sport tourism, namely Jogja International Heritage Walk (JIHW) 2024.

This event took place on November 16-17, 2024 in the villages of Important, Sleman, and the villages of Selopamioro, Imogiri, Bantul, with full support from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf).

Carrying the tagline "Save the Nature, Respect the Culture", JIHW 2024 aims to promote tourism and Indonesian cultural heritage at the international level.

Deputy Chairperson of JIHW, Dahlia Puspasari, emphasized that this event is a unique combination of walking, cultural recognition, local tourism to environmental conservation.

"We want participants from all over the world to be able to enjoy natural beauty as well as explore local wisdom. This event is a medium to harmonize sports activities with strengthening culture and preserving nature," said Dahlia when interviewed some time ago.

JIHW is not just a local event. As an organization that holds two licenses from the International Marching League (IML) from the Netherlands and Internationaler Volkssportverband (IVV) from Germany, JIHW has been recognized as an international event.

Participants can choose routes with a distance of 5 km, 10 km, or 20 km. During the trip, they will be treated with amazing views typical of Yogyakarta, ranging from natural panoramas to warm local community hospitality.

"The Intimate Walking concept allows participants to enjoy not only the landscape of nature, but also interact with local communities while exploring their traditions and culture," added Dahlia.

Jogja International Heritage Walk 2024 is not just a walk. This is an experience that combines sports, cultural exploration, and contributes to environmental conservation, making it a place to look forward to both local and international participants.
