JAKARTA - The Regional Board of the Indonesian Filateli Fan Association (PFI) of North Sumatra provides education for the younger generation about the history of stamping. All of this was answered through the 2024 Philatelian National Exhibition initiated by the North Sumatra Provincial Communications and Information Office.
"This activity is an education to the younger generation that stamps are a tool to connect people to communicate with each other through correspondence," said Ilyas Sitorus while attending the event, as quoted by Antara.
According to him, the exhibition, which was held for four days, can educate the next generation, because filateli is not just collecting stamps, but also preserving historical heritage.
"Through this exhibition, we are also reminded of the rich culture, tradition, and important events that have colored this country," he said.
For this reason, his party appreciates the Regional Management of the North Sumatra Filateli Indonesia Fan Association (PFI) which has initiated the exhibition.
With this exhibition, he hopes that more and more young people will love history, national culture, including the use of stamps in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra.
"This exhibition is also a forum for collectors and filatel fans to share knowledge, experience, and establish friendships, so it is also hoped that it can inspire the younger generation to know and love history more, as well as the nation's culture," he said.
