Atiek CB Praises Husband's Patience, Being Able To Face Wife Can't Speak English And Bipolar

JAKARTA - Legendary singer Atiek CB said that although he had lived in America for almost 20 years, he was still not fluent in English.

This was conveyed by Atiek when he was a guest star on one of Nicky Astria's podcasts. At first, Nicky suspected that Atiek was fluent in English, but he immediately dismissed it.

"(I) can't speak English," said Atiek CB, quoted by VOI from YouTube Pond Fish Media, Tuesday, November 5.

Atiek said that it doesn't mean he can't speak English at all, for basic English he can still talk about it.

"Usually, 'what do you want to eat?', you can order food at the restaurant, but if you have communication that is difficult, I can't," explained Atiek CB.

Hearing this, Nicky Astria then asked about the way her best friend communicated with her foreign husband. Atiek said that her husband and children gave in in Indonesian when talking to her.

"In Indonesian. My husband is getting smoother in Indonesian, my children too. My Javanese language is getting smoother in America. That's true," said Atiek CB.

Penyanyi lagu Sorry ini mengaku juga ingin bisa berbahasa Indonesia namun ia merasa sudah tidak mampu dan memilih menggunakan bahasa jawa saja.

"I also want it, but I can't afford it. Usually Javanese, that's it," he said.

In addition to giving in to language problems, Atiek CB's husband and children also want to understand the mental health condition diagnosed with bipolar.

Atiek once mentioned that her husband became a strong and patient male figure in dealing with his condition compared to his former lover.

"My husband is the strongest, most powerful man I have ever met, from my girlfriends, from other men," said Atiek CB, quoted by VOI from YouTube Melaney Ricardo.

This is evidenced by the calm and patient attitude of the husband who always accompanied him when anxiety approached him and made a joke.

"That's why the husband said, 'Oh, it's like a mental hospital' he said," said Atiek CB.
