JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of Indonesia (Komdigi) invites young people who are creative, critical, and expressive to celebrate differences, unite, and produce positive works through the Makin Capap Digital program.

In this step, Komdigi collaborated with talented singer and actress, Ghea Indrawari, as the face of a campaign that is expected to inspire the public, especially young people. This campaign video will premiere on November 1, 2024 on the Kominfo Digital Literacy YouTube channel.

Ghea Indrawari was previously widely known for his ability to utilize the internet and social media, having more than 2.9 million followers on Instagram (@gheaindrawari). He regularly shares inspiring inspirational content.

The songs also contain positive messages that are relevant to his generation. Ghea's presence in this campaign is expected to be able to attract the attention of the younger generation, encourage them to better understand the good ethics of the internet, and stay away from negative impacts, such as online gambling which now lurks many young people.

The More Digital Cap Program is a continuation of the initiative initiated by Kominfo to educate and empower the public in the internet wisely and positively. In President Prabowo's administration, digitalization is the main focus, as evidenced by the formation of a special ministry in the Red and White Cabinet.

"The president's decision has determined the change of the name of this ministry, which is now the Ministry of Communication and Digital. Our focus remains the same, but with the addition of responsibility in the digital field," said Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid in a statement to VOI.id.

Meutya hopes that this step can continue digital transformation as a whole and overcome the problem of online gambling that has ensnared millions of people.

Until August 2024, Kominfo data shows five provinces with the highest number of residents involved in online gambling, including: West Java, Jakarta, and Central Java. He also emphasized the importance of creating a safe internet space for children.

"We will try to overcome various forms of crime in cyberspace, including child abuse, trafficking, and pornography. With a better approach, we are committed to creating a healthier digital environment," explained Meutya.

With this program, the Ministry of Communication and Digital hopes that the younger generation can become agents of positive changes in cyberspace, using technology to create better impacts on society.
