In addition to absorbing greenhouse gases, this plant is also effective in filtering dangerous pollutants such as lead from the air, with heavy metal content absorbed reaching 0.003 mg per gram of leaves.

In addition to providing benefits to the environment, the red shoots are also known to have potential for health. Some sources mention red shoots that are rich in antioxidants that can benefit the body if properly processed.

However, research related to its use as an herbal plant is still limited and requires further testing to ensure its safety and effectiveness for human health.
