Bahlil Says Announcement Of Subsidized Fuel Restrictions Is Just A Matter Of Time

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said the implementation of Pertalite type subsidized fuel restrictions is actually just waiting for the right time.

Bahlil also said that all previously existing obstacles had been resolved properly and would be ready to be announced.

"It's just a matter of time to be announced. And I don't think there is anything else I have to say with any problems," said Bahlil, quoted on Saturday, October 19.

He added that he could not provide further details regarding when the restrictions would be announced, he confirmed that they would be carried out in the near future.

"What is clear is that later we will announce what we are doing," Bahlil explained.

The implementation of this subsidized fuel restriction has long been discussed. Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan confirmed the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 191 of 2014 regarding the Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of Oil Fuel will be completed before the new government.

"We will try to solve everything before the next government because I think it is important because it was related to air quality," said Luhut to the media crew when met at JCC, Wednesday, August 14.

Sebelumnya juga diberitakan draft revisi Peraturan Presiden Nomor 191 Tahun 2014 yang mengatur kriteria pengguna BBM Pertalite dan Solar subsidi kini sudah berada di mejak Presiden Joko Widodo.

"Now, if the discussion at my level, at Echelon 1, it has been discussed at the level, the Minister (ESDM) has been completed, at the Coordinating Minister (Economics), now Mr. President," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana to the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday 26 July.
