BELIFT LAB Denies NewJeans Member's Parents Statement Of Alleged Bullying

JAKARTA - The NewJeans and the BELIFT LAB label are filing a lawsuit against each other regarding the alleged bullying revealed by Hanni NewJeans. This news dragged the group under the label, namely ILLIT.

Last September, NewJeans held a live broadcast to voice their support for ADOR CEO, Min Hee Jin in the midst of a conflict with HYBE companies. Later, Hanni told about the incident when a manager from another group asked the group to be indifferent when Hanni tried to greet them.

When the broadcast took place, Hanni did not mention the group in question. He tried to discuss the situation with their new CEO, Kim Ju Young but did not receive a good response due to a lack of strong evidence.

Citing Ilgan Sports, the mothers of two NewJeans members regretted how the new CEO handled this incident. They explained the incident occurred at the end of last May and were told Kim Ju Young in June.

They said CCTV videos featuring Hanni with the group were only available for eight seconds, while the rest were deleted.

"When we asked why the rest of the footage was removed, (the security side) replied they didn't know because the person who took care of the CCTV left the company," claims two mothers of two NewJeans members.

"Shouldn't HYBE be neutral and carry out investigations? And shouldn't the department or person handling bullying at work at HYBE take care of it?" they asked.

BELIFT LAB responded to the interview via social media by revealing who the group was referring to. They clearly mentioned ILLIT in the statement.

"No ILLIT staff said anything like 'Just throw' to NewJeans members. ILLIT members never pass without greeting NewJeans members," wrote BELIFT LAB.

Then the label said that they could believe their statement via CCTV video and investigation. They also explained complete information about the incident.

The meeting of the two groups only took place on May 27 when they were in the HYBE building for five minutes. Footage showing ILLIT members leaving the elevator and saluting 90 degrees to Hanni NewJeans who were standing in front of them, they explained.

BELIFT also said that deleted videos could not be made as evidence because there was no sound in CCTV videos.

"They claim the video was deleted but this is also an argument that cannot be suspended because the voice was not recorded on CCTV," they said.

"We avoid commenting on this issue to keep our workers in a weak position than well-known artists," he said.

BELIFT is demanding an apology from members of NewJeans and ADOR, but they claim they have not received a reply. NewJeans and ADOR have also not responded to the latest BELIFT LAB statement.
