Film Review I, The Executive: Formula Basic That Remains Interesting With Jung Hae In

JAKARTA - Film I, The Executive: A Veteran Story is the latest Korean film to be shown in Indonesian cinemas. This sequel is the latest work of director Ryoo Seung Wan nine years after his first film.

Hwang Jung Min is still playing the main character who this time was accompanied by Jung Hae In. Until this article was written, the film I, The Executive, had been watched by more than 5.7 million viewers.

I, The Executive tells the story of veteran detective Seo Do Cheol (Hwang Jung Min) who is tasked with investigating serial murder cases and other cases. He is still working with his team, namely Bong Yoon Joo (Jang Yoon Ju), Oh Jae Pyeong (Oh Dal Soo), Wang Dong airing (Oh Dae Hwan), and Yoon Si Yeong (Kim Shi Hoo).

Not finished with office matters, Seo Do Cheol was also faced with family problems when his son was said to have bullied his school children.

In the midst of this problem, Seo Do Cheol welcomed a new member, Park Sun Woo (Jung Hae In) after his action went viral on the internet. Park Sun Woo is a police officer who became popular because the arrest of the perpetrators of the crime he committed succeeded in attracting attention.

Seo Do Cheol and Park Sun Woo work together to investigate the serial murder case that has resulted in casualties and are starting to approach those closest to them.

Film I, The Executive has a formula that is often found in action comedy films. How the opening sequence leads to problems and endings of the story, nothing new about the Sloptic story style of Ryoo Seung Wan in this film.

Apart from that, his story remains fun to watch. From the start, the audience was reunited with Seo Do Cheol's team featuring comedy when they made arrests and investigations.

In terms of action, this film takes the side of the chase action scene and hits which are quite okay and takes from an unusual camera angle. As a result, the tense moment also complements the excitement of I, The Executive in storytelling.

Hwang Jung Min is not in doubt, but Jung Hae In appears shining in this film. Judging by his filmography, maybe this film really explores the actor's acting.

This film highlights the brutality of a police officer in executing the community, questioning the credibility of journalism to seeking justice in the world. The story is close to reality with various ideas, not finding a bright spot for the purpose of storytelling.

Some of the sub plots that were originally displayed end up hanging or just disappearing at the end of the story, one of which is a plot regarding bullying or the purpose of the villain looking for Seo Do Cheol.

Even so, I, The Executive created interesting twist moments, one of which was a fight scene on the rooftop with heavy rain, a stylish action that made it feel extraordinary.
