JAKARTA - The film Laura tells the story of the last years of Laura Anna's life who died in December 2021. Laura Anna (Amanda Rawles) is told as an influencer with more than 1 million followers on Instagram.
In the midst of her popularity, Laura became acquainted with a man who captivated her heart, Jojo (Kevin Ardilova). They then dated. Laura's relationship with Jojo was the beginning of the disaster that would befall Laura. At first, Jojo looked like a romantic and good lover.
However, over time, it begins to show its natural nature who likes to take advantage of Laura from a financial perspective and likes to play victim. Until one night, the couple got drunk at a nightclub until late. Laura also asked Jojo to stop and take him home.
Jojo, who was drunk driving the car, had a micro sleep and when he woke up his car almost hit another car. The steering wheel was slammed to the right, but from behind there was a car that was driving equally fast and driving Jojo's car.
Due to the car accident, Laura was paralyzed. During the treatment and rehabilitation process, her family and close friends always accompanied Laura, especially her mother, Mama Amel (Unique Priscilla), and her sister, Iren (Carissa Perusset).
Meanwhile, Jojo often disappears and only comes with problems. Even in Laura's slump, Jojo still likes to blame his girlfriend.
This film highlights Laura's twists and turns with Jojo; support from Laura's family and close friends as a caregiver; and Laura's struggle to rise from adversity.
The film Laura herself was produced by MD Pictures and worked on by Hanung Bramantyo as a director. While the scriptwriter is Alim Sudio.
Hanung said this film uses Laura Anna's family point of view (PoV). Therefore, apart from Laura and her family, other figures use fictitious names. For example, Laura's boyfriend in a film named Jojo and played by Kevin Ardilova.
