Drama Joseon Exorcist, Lee Yoo Bi And Park Sung Hoon Also Apologize

JAKARTA - SBS has decided to cancel the broadcast of the Korean drama Joseon Exorcist after several controversies this week. The controversy that dragged on made this drama could not be continued. Not only did it get protests from netizens, this drama was also protested by the family association of the Lee Jeonju Royal Family.

The family of the Lee Joseon clan, which ruled Korea for 500 years, asked for the Joseon Exorcist drama to stop running. The statement was given directly to SBS, where a petition was also given to the current South Korean government, the Blue House.

"We ask for the immediate cancellation of the drama 'Joseon Exorcist', which distorts Korean history and culture and shows favoritism to China's Northeastern History Project," the royal family association was quoted as saying by Allkpop.

Joseon Exorcist is thought to take the name of a historical figure and insert it into a distorted narrative. King Taejong, Prince Yangyeong, Prince Choongneyong (also known as King Sejong) were among them. "As a result, the majority of the nation has raised concerns," said the royal family association again.

Knowing the controversy that occurred until the drama ceased production, the drama's main cast made a personal apology. Through Instagram, Park Sung Hoon and Lee Yoo Bi wrote the following regret and apology.
