Watching Kang Mak From Pee Mak, Mario Maurer And Davika Hoorne Remember The Past

JAKARTA - Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne, two Thai film stars who played a role in the film Pee Mak came to Jakarta, Indonesia.

The two of them attended the premiere of the film Kang Mak From Pee Mak, which is a remake of the Thai film, Pee Mak, by director Banjong Pisanthanakun.

After watching it, Mario and Davika admitted that the film Kang Mak from Pee Mak reminded them when filming 10 years ago.

"(The film) really remembers me while filming, and I remember the energy I gave and when I saw the film, I remember shooting when Pee Mak," Mario said in a press conference on Saturday, July 3.

"Yes, so remember when filming, every scene," continued Davika

Davika said that the Indonesian version of Kang Mak from Pee Mak became special because it included local wisdom in the film to entertain the audience.

"When I watched the whole film, I remembered it while filming. It's interesting to see you put it in local culture and comedy. I can see you changed it a little bit and I don't understand a little bit," Davika said with a laugh.

"But it's very surprising. Not 100 percent original, but you will like this film," he continued.

Meanwhile, Sutrdara Banjong Pisanthanakun, who participated in watching the premiere Kang Mak From Pee Mak, gave his appreciation.

"I really like cast and chemistry. The characters are very lovable," said Banjong.

Banjong then recounted the beginning when the film made by Pee Mak, which was released in 2013, was remake by the Indonesian version.

Banjong as the director of Pee Mak was also surprised when he found out that the film would be made to Indonesia. He also admitted that he believed in the ability of Indonesian film people to make it.

"When I heard they wanted a remake, I was surprised because it's been 10 years but they don't need to believe in me because I believe they are doing well," said Banjong.

Kang Mak from Pee Mak tells the story of Mak (Vino G. Bastian) who goes on duty in the military, leaving his wife Sari (Marsha Timothy) in a state of pregnancy.

After serving, Mak returned home and met his wife who had given birth in line with the strange incident that was present between Mak and his friends.

The film Kang Mak from Pee Mak will premiere in Indonesian cinemas starting August 15.
