Ryan Reynolds License Directly To Madonna Borrowing Song For Deadpool & Badminton

JAKARTA - The film Deadpool & airing will be filled with a number of hit songs as their soundtrack, one of which is Madonna's Like a Prayer song which was released in 1989. The two main characters, Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, revealed their struggle to use the hit song.

Recently, the two admitted that they had visited Madonna in person to ask for permission to use the song Like a Pray.

"This includes visiting Madonna and we show Madonna a scene where the song Like a Prayer will be used," Shawn Levy said as director of Deadpool & airing.

"Also, the fact that they are not licensed - that Madonna does not license the song is a big thing to ask for the song to be used and a big deal to use it," added Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds explained what scene would use the song Like a Prayer so Madonna could get an idea that the song was being used well. So nervous, Reynolds admitted that he had asked Madonna's team how to call him.

"We came (to Madonna's house) and met her and showed how the song was used, and where, and why," Reynolds said again.

"When I met you, can I just say 'Madonna?' like 'Hello Madonna, I'm Ryan," he said.

Furthermore, Ryan Reynolds said Madonna not only gave permission but also gave advice to them in using the songs and scenes.

"He gave a good note. He watched it and I didn't lie. He said 'You have to do it' and well, he's right on target," Ryan Reynolds said.

"We went to record a new session in 48 hours for this record making the scene better," he said.

A number of musicians who will fill the Deadpool & airway soundtrack are The Platters, *NSYNC, Merrilee Rush & The Turnabouts, Stray Kids, Fergie, Goo Goo Dolls, and many others.

The film Deadpool & airing will be released in Indonesian cinemas starting July 24, 2024.
