Play Cancer Patients At A Quite Place: Day One, Lupita Nyong'o Remembers Chadwick Boseman

JAKARTA - Lupita Nyong 'o never forgets Chadwick Boseman. Four years after his departure and Nyong'o revealed that he continued to remember his best friend, especially when filming his latest film.

In the film A Quiet Place: Day One, Lupita Nyong'o plays a poet who faces end-stage cancer amid an alien invasion.

"It feels scary to play it, psychologically and emotionally," Lupita Nyongo quoted People as saying.

"In the end, it actually felt therapeutic because I experienced several years ago with Chadwick Boseman's death, which really surprised me," he continued.

Chadwick Boseman died of intestinal cancer in August 2020. Boseman and Nyong'o are co-stars in the film Black Panther.

"I kept thinking about it (during filming)," recalls Nyong 'o.

"When we think we have all the time in the world, we can underestimate other people and the experiences we go through," he said.

Lupita Nyongo never missed making a tribute to Boseman on social media. Last year, he uploaded a photo of Chadwick Boseman memorying three years since his departure.

Three years ago today, I feel sad about the news of Chadwick Boseman's death. The difficulty I found was going through a few months and feeling happy again," wrote Lupita Nyongo.

Deaths are hard to understand, even hard to accept. But the love he gets as long as he lives fulfills his absence. Chadwick may not be in our photos, but he will always have our hearts," he said.
