Eid Holiday, Thousand Islands Visited By More Than Five Thousand Tourists

JAKARTA - A total of 5,293 tourists visited the Thousand Islands during the Eid al-Adha holiday June 15-16, 2024.

"Ahead of Eid al-Adha Monday (17/6), many tourists visit the Thousand Islands, to enjoy various destinations," said Head of the Thousand Islands Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Sub-dept., Sonti Pangaribuan in Jakarta, Sunday.

He said the tourists came from several entrances to the Thousand Islands area, including Marina Ancol pier, Muara Angke, Tanjung Pasir, and Cituis.

He explained that tourists who visit the Thousand Islands mostly visit residents and resort islands.

According to him, this tourist visit is predicted to continue to increase in the next few days.

He said access to the Thousand Islands is easy to reach, as well as facilities provided to make it easier for tourists to take a vacation.

To get to the Thousand Islands, tourists can access the Kali Adem and Marina Ancol piers at different rates.

Through the Kali Adem pier, visitors can use wooden boats at a rate of around Rp. 50,000 to Rp. 80,000, and can also use the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency ship at a rate of around Rp. 44 thousand to Rp. 74 thousand.

"Meanwhile, through Marina Ancol pier, the fare is around Rp. 150,000 to Rp. 200 thousand," he said as reported by Antara.

Previously, the Regent of the Thousand Islands, Junaedi, said that he had prepared eleven leading tourist destinations on populated islands and submitted them to DKI Jakarta Province to prepare regional regulations (perda) as supporters.

"The district government has made a breakthrough and there are progress, changes and ideas so that it can make sense to do it," he said.

According to him, if you rely on the Thousand Islands Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD), the development in this area will not be maximized.

Junaedi explained that the strategy to increase PAD was carried out in conjunction with the change in DKI Jakarta to the Jakarta Special Region (DKJ).

"Jakarta is heading to a global city with several indicators in the tourism sector and the determination of the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN)," he said.
