JAKARTA - On June 6, 2024, the Bali International Film Festival (Balinale) announced the winners of the 17th edition where the festival features 60 films representing 25 countries out of more than 600 registered titles. The 2024 Balinale also leaves one festival closing film titled World Premiere, Lafran, which was screened Friday, June 7 yesterday.

The jury said, "We are touched by this film and the fate of the displaced people who are told very well. That's why, why short documentaries are so important, they use films to preserve history and as a form of activity, which gives them lasting power,"
Best Short Narrative: The Masterpiece, Zelenx Lora (Spain)
The jury said, "The narrative of a strong film building the atmosphere and tensions subtlely reveal the dynamics of power and prejudice. The stories of immigrants whose dreams and hopes are indeed wanted by a wealthy family. This complexity is combined with solid appearance and direction,"
Best Feature Narrative: The Gospel of the Beast, Sheron Dayoc (Philippines)
The jury said, "This film is interesting because of its strong direction, good scenario, and impressive cinematography. The narration landscape, the protagonist grapples with a moral dilemma before finally choosing the right path, is very interesting and very strong in sound."
