Hunger Games Prepares New Novels And Films, Sunrise On The Reaping

JAKARTA - The Hunger Games film franchise will come with new novels and films.principal Collins as the author will release a new novel that is planned to be published on March 18, 2025.

Lionsgate as the production house is also planning a prequel film titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping which will hit theaters on November 20, 2026. Francis Lawrence, who directed four of his films, is currently being discussed to return to this project.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are confirmed to return as producers after bringing the franchise to Lionsgate in 2012.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will set 24 years before the Hunger Games franchise centered at Panem and marks the 50th Hunger Games. This film is different from the title of The Hungers: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes which is set 64 years from its trilogy.

Sunrise on the Reaping starts at the Second Quarter Quell which is an important game. The winner is Haymitch Abernatahy who is the only winner of District 12. The character of Haymitch is played by Woody Harrelson.

"In Sunrise on the Reaping, I was inspired by David Hume's idea of implicit hearsing and, in his words, 'the convenience that many people have to regulate by a few people", Collins quoted Deadline as saying.

It is not yet known whether Woody Harrelson will return to play his character in this franchise.
