Big Interest, Will The Third Season Of The Kingdom Series Arrive Sooner?

JAKARTA - The second season of the Kingdom series was released by Netflix on March 13. This horror thriller genre series has finally returned since the last episode of its first season aired a year ago.

Still starring Ju Ji Hoon, Bae Doona, and Ryu Seung Ryong, the second season of Kingdom is still focused on the continuation of Prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji Hoon) who finds out how to fight the zombies that are chasing them. Seo Bi (Bae Doona) discovered the fact that zombies are not susceptible to weather but temperature.

Seo Bi goes after Prince Lee Chang so he can help him save the kingdom. Meanwhile, Queen Cho (Kim Hye Jun), who is about to give birth, wants to immediately ascend the throne of her child as the next king. Not only that, Lee Chang also faced off against the Haewon Cho clan who tried to take him down from the highest seat.

The betting still continues until the last episode. Six episodes apparently have not satisfied the thirst of fans who have not found a bright spot in this battle. In the last episode, the audience was also met with a new character played by Jun Ji Hyun. This will most likely mark the Kingdom's third season.

Positive reactions also welcomed the second season's broadcast, Rotten Tomatoes even gave a 100 percent rating for the series directed by Kim Seong Hun. Reportedly the third season of Kingdom will air next year.

However, not a few fans have asked to accelerate the broadcast of the third season considering they can't stand having to wait every one year to wait for the next story. This is often done by successful Netflix series such as Stranger Things, Narcos, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and many more.

Kim Eun Hee, the writer of Kingdom, had said that she could write scripts until the 10th season if there were so many requests. Kingdom comes from the webcomic series The Kingdom of the Gods written by him. Initially, the main actor Lee Chang was offered to actor Song Joon Ki, but he refused and then transferred to Ju Ji Hoon.

Netflix has never released the total viewership of each series, but looking at the positive reviews given it doesn't seem like a lie if the Kingdom series is one of the interesting shows both in South Korea and internationally.
