KPAI Admits Difficulty Investigating Bullying Involving Vincent Rompies' Son Because School's Binus Serpong Is Not Open

JAKARTA - Commissioner of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAIA), Diyah Puspitarani said that his party's investigation into the bullying case involving Vincent Rompies' eldest son was hampered. One of the factors that hampered the investigation was the discovery of differences in facts and post-mortem received by the KPAI. So that further investigation is still needed. "Yes, that's right, we also still want to know that. It means that what is reported with a post-mortem must be matched, that's the problem," said Diyah Puspitarani in the Gondangdia area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 27. Previously in a press conference, Diyah also regretted the response from Binus School Serpong which seemed unwilling to be open about the facts of the bullying case involving his students.

"On February 23, 2024, KPAI ensured that the process of filling out the Minutes of Investigation (BAP) of witnesses was completed and urged that a case be held immediately. Then KPAI together with the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology and the Ministry of PPPA met schools, but KPAI and the Ministry of PPPA did not receive a positive response from the school," said Diyah. "The second arrival, KPAI clarified the information provided from the school on the right to children's education, but the attempt failed due to the school's openness," he continued.
