JAKARTA - BEN, a music project fronted by Benny Navaro (keyboard), Johan Nurrokhman (guitar) and Surya Luckmana (vocals) is ready to release his debut album, Asmarandana. The album, which was worked on from March to October 2020, contains 13 songs in 50 minutes duration.

Carrying a sound theme of 80's and 90's, BEN tried to give a unique color to his music. This album was preceded by the release of two single songs, Asmarandana and Residu, in early January on all digital platforms.

Asmarandana's single song tells about the mysterious love story in someone's life. Some are happy and joyful, but some are the opposite. It boils down to an important premise "can we have love without question marks?".

Benny Navaro, who is in charge of writing the song, revealed the meaning of this unique title. According to him, Asmarandana is taken from the treasures of the archipelago, which more or less means "the Fire of Love".

The term Asmarandana itself is often heard in Sundanese and Javanese literature.

Meanwhile, Residu talked about "loving and being hurt at the same time". A situation that is often experienced by many people. Packed in rock music with interesting guitar riffs.

Taking the ambience and sound of 80s and 90s music, lyrics and song titles are the main focus of this pop rock trio. Unusual idioms such as Asmarandana, Residu, Gentas, Best Karma appear on this album.

Benny Navaro has a background as a top 40 musician and has co-produced several other musicians' albums. Among them are Zigaz and Zetta.

His creation that became a hit is Sahabat Jadi Cinta which was popularized by Zigaz and the late Mike Mohede.

Meanwhile, Johan Nurrokhman has a background as a cafe musician for 16 years. Johan and his band had been a band to accompany several artists, including Citra Scholastika and Dewi Persikk.

Meanwhile, Surya Luckmana was previously the vocalist of Moluska Band. Together with his band, he had produced several single songs, and had participated in a talent search event for Rising Star on a TV station.
