Vera Lasut Had Time To Join The Painting Exhibition Before The Production Of Horror Films

JAKARTA - Vera Lasut is preparing to produce horror films. Vera Lasut admitted that she could not leave the world of film even though she is now also busy as a painter. Producers of the Devils Budeg, Dead Suri, Susuk Pocong, and Perfect House, admitted that they were developing a new story.

"There is a development of a new horror genre film. The story is still being worked on, but it cannot be reported further. What is certain is that it will continue to produce films," he said when showing off his painting at EXPLORUPA EN DO NESIA: Rupa Kita Currently, at JAYA SCHOOL of Performing Arts, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Friday, December 1.

Vera Lasut always sets aside time to work in other arts, namely fine art because painting for her is the right means to express her heart. "For me, whether a film or painting has the same role, which is to convey my heart and expression of my soul to those who enjoy my artwork. So I am very happy to be able to paint," he said.

Vera explained that her ideology in painting is to express her spiritual journey and transformation of her soul. Vera herself began to dare to exhibit in 2019.

"This time I collaborated with a painter from the PERANTARA community, which means Perupa Perantau from North Sulawesi. I am very happy because the name Lasut that I have is from Mihanasa descent. So when asked to collaborate with the Intermediaries and JAYA SUPRANA SCHOOL of Performing Arts and MURI, I immediately greeted enthusiastically," he recalled.

There are 6 people collaborating, namely: Alderin Emor Mingkid, Ken Alfrits Oroh, Rico Emor, Melky Runtu,men Pesik, Vera Lasut. "At this exhibition, the place is exclusive, the guests are also, so I am very happy to be able to join. Hopefully in the future, we can collaborate optimally with more North Sulawesi. Because I want to remember the spirit of work from Emiria Sunassa, who is the pioneer of Indonesian women from North Sulawsi, which is one step forward and never back," he explained.

Support from Mr. Jaya Suprana and Osmar Susilo as Director of MURI is also very maximal. "I exhibited two paintings. One of them is entitled The Power of Mother Earth'. In this painting I consider women to be a pillar for the family with a painting of goddesses as motherland, seawater as a symbol of Indonesia as a maritime country. The crown in motherland is a symbol of a strong mother all-time, namely being a queen who can do many things from taking care of family, children to work. This is what I describe our country as a motherland, wherever we go, we will never forget our homeland, Indonesia, give the best for motherland," he explained.

The work received a warm welcome from Syakieb Sungkar. "Mother always gets a central position in the work of Indonesian painters. Because she is a source of life, birth, and as a symbol of nature conservation, mother Earth, or mother earth. In a work entitled The Power of Mother Earth, Vera Lasut wants to describe a woman who bursts from the ocean floor. From the clothes she reminds us that women are like a queen, Nyi Roro Kidul, or a goddess who controls the ocean," he said.

The senior painter added that the strength or power of the motherland is shown from the hands that can be transformed into a red dragon that bends towards the top of the canvas. "Through expressive scratches with thick texture, the dragon looks alive due to a combination of pink and blood red colors forming a volume and plastic movement of the dragon. A touch of gold gives an accentuation that strengthens the head gestures of the dragon," he explained.
