Concert In Malaysia Canceled, Eric Nam Clarifies Alleged Pro Israel

JAKARTA - Korean-American singer Eric Nam opened his voice after being criticized after liking posts about the Israeli and Palestinian conflicts. This started earlier this month when fans found Eric Nam liking a post related to the war.

This singer immediately drew criticism from netizens. He was also criticized after removing Malaysia from a series of concert tours which will begin in 2024.

Today, Monday, October 30, Eric Nam made a clarification regarding the reason he liked the Instagram post. He explained that he did not like violence and anti-hate.

"Tombol liking the post is a reaction to sad news, as a person who is always pro-humanity, peace, and for love and equality for all," wrote Eric Nam.

"My heart mourns the Palestinian and Israeli families who are devastated by violence and face an unpredictable loss," he continued.

The Honestly singer is also aware of the cancellation of the concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He admitted that he received threats related to the concert so he made a decision, namely canceling the show.

After that, I received threats regarding my show schedule in Kuala Lumpur. "Because I was very careful for my team and fans, I made a difficult decision to cancel the show," said Eric Nam.

"There's nothing I can say when there is a lot of hurt and suffering. But I pray every day that there is peace and security for everything," explained Eric Nam.

Eric Nam as one of the singers from South Korea has drawn criticism for liking posts about the war between Israel and Palestine.

The controversy began when Eric Nam liked posts containing support for Jews as victims in the Hamas attack. Eric Nam gave a 'like' button in the middle of his latest concert tour to be announced.

After adding Malaysia, Eric Nam removed Malaysia's name on the tour list. The public suspects that this cancellation is related to the controversy over Eric Nam who likes the post.
