Oscar Announces Nominees For International Feature Film, ‘Perempuan Tanah Jahanam’ (Impetigore) Gets Knocked Out

JAKARTA - The Oscar Committee announced a number of foreign films that were included in the Best International Feature Film shortlist to compete in the 2021 Oscar awards.

15 incoming films were selected from 93 countries that registered. Among these are two documentaries: Alexander Nanau's Collective from Romania and The Mole Agent from Chile.

From Asia, there were three countries that made it to enter, namely A Sun from Taiwan, Better Days from Hong Kong, and Sun Children from Iran. Joko Anwar's film Perempuan Tanah Jahanam or Impetigore, who became Indonesia's representative, was eliminated from this list of nominees.

The announcement of the 93 Oscar nominations will be announced on March 15 and the awards ceremony will be held on April 25 via the ABC television channel.
