Oncy Ungu Says Jemimah Idol Successfully Conquering 'Cinta Dalam Hati' Song With Full Of 'Traps'

JAKARTA - The song Cinta Dalam Hati from Ungu has returned to popularity after being performed by Jemimah at the Indonesian Idol. The song also went viral after being made the background song of the Jemimah Challenge on TikTok.

Even though she sang the song on low notes and not performing any vocal improvisations, Oncy, the guitarist for Ungu who composed this song, revealed that Jemimah sang with her life.

More than that, Oncy said that the woman from Depok who is currently studying at Diponegoro University was able to conquer the chord trap he made. The reason for that is, it is not easy to sing Cinta Dalam Hati if the vocal quality of the singer is mediocre, even though the base notes of the song are changed to match the vocal character.

"When I wrote this song, the song is in low notes, on the chorus, the notes go higher. So this song is a bit tricky. So if you're not careful in matching the chords, sometimes it will be too low in the verse but the chorus is just right. But if for example, you choose the higher chords for the verse, it will be too high when you hit the chorus. That's what's dangerous", said Oncy when contacted by VOI, Thursday, January 29.

"You have to sing it right. I think Jemimah knew what she was doing when she sang the song during the showcase", Oncy continued.

The guitarist whose full name is Arlonsy Mirald said, the song Cinta Dalam Hati was made for Pasha, Ungu band's vocalist who in fact is able to master the tone of the song according to the chord progressions made by him. However, when another singer performs the song almost flawlessly, the singer is successful.

"She (Jemimah) can sing this song well. The high part in the chorus was good, and she can feel the lyrics. So, the song must be felt and Jemimah succeeded in doing it", said Oncy.
