Rejecting Polygamy Becomes An Important Scene For Najwa Shihab In Buya Hamka Film

Najwa Shihab became one of the public figures who had the opportunity to see the screening of Buya Hamka film earlier. He said he was satisfied after watching Hamka's journey, played by Vino G Bastian.

Although known as ulama, satrawan, and journalist who is charismatic, Najwa actually sees another greatness of Hamka's figure as a husband. The 45-year-old woman was amazed after seeing the scene where Hamka refused to polygamy.

"One of the interesting things about Buya Hamka is that she is a husband who is loyal to his wife, Siti Raham," said Najwa Shihab in an official statement received by VOI editors on Tuesday, April 18.

Apart from Siti Raham, Hamka is known to have another wife, Siti Khadijah. However, Hamka's marriage to Siti Khadijah occurred after Siti Raham died.

The scene of Buya Hamka refusing to do polygamy occurred when she was a Muhammadiyah administrator in Makassar. At that time, Hamka was offered to marry a local woman.

The scene is a concern for Najwa Shihab. He said he was happy that the important moment was well recorded by director Fajar Bustomi.

"There are important moments in films that I think are also interesting. When Buya Hamka refuses to polygamy, that's an important part. I'm very happy that part is included in this film," said the woman who is familiarly called Nana.

The Buya Hamka film produced by Falcon Pictures and Starvision will premiere in all Indonesian cinemas simultaneously on April 19, 2023.

Apart from Vino G Bastian who plays Buya Hamka and Laudya Chyntia Bella as Siti Raham, this film also stars other well-known actors, including Desy Ratnasari, Donny Damara, Anjasmara, Reza Rahardian, Ayu Laksmi, Marthino Lio, Reybong, Mawar De Jongh, Mathias Muchus, Verdi Solaeman, Teuku Rifnu Wikana, Ben Kasyafani, Wafda Lubis, Ferry Salim, Donny Kesuma, Cok Simbara, Roy Sungkono, Yoriko Angeline, Ajil Ditto, Zayyan Sakha, and Yoga Pratama.
