JAKARTA - Vocalist Ronnie James Dio joined Black Sabbath in 1979 and produced two consecutive classic albums: Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. In those memorable albums, Dio's tenor soars and gothic songwriting is the perfect coating for a mix of razor-sharp guitar riffs, intense grooves, and a dark imagery.

Record label Rhino paid tribute to this short-lived lineup by presenting the latest remastered versions of both albums. In fact, it was expanded with a lineup of rare and unreleased music.

Heaven And Hell: Deluxe Edition and Mob Rules: Deluxe Edition will be released separately on March 5. Each album will be available on 2-CD (US $ 19.98), or 2-Vinyl (US $ 31.98) format. Due to space constraints, both vinyl editions include a selection of bonus material from the CD. The music will also be available via digital download and streaming services on the same day.

A rare live version of Heaven And Hell and a previously unreleased live version of The Mob Rules is available as a digital single and can be streamed below.

Dio joined Black Sabbath for the first time in 1979 and quickly found the same passion as guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward. When Heaven And Hell was released in April 1980, the album received effective reviews for the band's return to metal masterpieces such as the song Neon Knights and the title track Heaven And Hell.

The album reached No. 9 in the UK and No. 28 in the US, where the album was also certified platinum.

Heaven And Hell: Deluxe Edition adds several bonus songs that have never been released in North America, including versions of Children Of The Sea and Die Young recorded live in 1980 in Hartford, Connecticut. The set concludes with rare live performances of songs such as E5150 and Neon Knights which originally appeared in 2007 in the limited edition Rhino Handmade Black Sabbath: Live At Hammersmith Odeon collection.

To follow up on Heaven And Hell, the group returned to the studio in 1981 to begin recording Mob Rules, during which time drummer Vinny Appice joined the band for the first time. Released in October 1981 and certified gold, the album covered classic Black Sabbath numbers, including highlights such as The Sign Of The Southern Cross, Turn Up The Night and the title track Mob Rules.

Mob Rules: Deluxe Edition offers a large selection of rare and unreleased recordings. Along with additional songs from Live At Hammersmith Odeon, the collection also includes the latest mixed versions of Mob Rules.

Dio's line-up disbanded in 1982, but reunited a decade later to record Dehumanizer and tour before going on hiatus again. The group got together again in 2006 to record three new songs for a collection covering the Rhino era, Black Sabbath: The Dio Years.

The collaboration resulted in the highly anticipated world tour in 2007 for which the group was named HEAVEN & HELL. Their last album with new material, The Devil You Know (2009), again shows the musical bond between the band members is unrivaled.
