Oscar Nominations 2023, Austin Butler Dedications For Lisa Marie Presley

JAKARTA - Austin Butler dedicated Oscar 2023 nominations to the late Lisa Marie Presley. Elvis's only son died on January 12 after being rushed to a local hospital.

A few weeks later, Butler was announced as one of the nominees at the Academy Award for the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for his role as Elvis.

"This is a bittersweet moment because I hope she (Lisa Marie) can be here celebrating this with me," she said at an NBC event.

It feels the same as Elvis, I hope they can see this moment. Strange celebrating this in the midst of mourning, but I think it's a way to respect him and say this for him," said Austin Butler.

When asked about his first reaction, Austin Butler said he was surprised. Until now, he still did not expect his name to be in the nominations.

"This is a frightening effort as well as a long process. I remember the sleepless night because of fear and the possibility of mistakes happening," he explained.

"But for now, not only me but all the amazing artists who work for this film, getting recognition is amazing," continued Austin Butler.

Previously, Lisa Marie's mother appreciated the prayers and support that the public had given Lisa Marie Presley.

"Thank you for your condolences, you touched me with your words," wrote Priscilla Presley.

"It's a very difficult situation, but knowing that your love is out there making changes," he continued.
