Patty Jenkins Returns As Director Of Wonder Woman 3

JAKARTA - Warner Bros. confirmed the Wonder Woman story will continue to the third part and again directed by Patty Jenkins.

Quoting NME today, Monday, December 28, Toby Emerrich from Warner Bros. stated that the production house will continue the story of Wonder Woman. Apart from Jenkins, Gal Gadot will also return to play Diana Prince.

"We are delighted to continue (Diana Prince) 's story with our Wonder Women - Gal and Patty - who are returning to create a trilogy long planned to hit theaters," said Emerrich.

This statement was released after Wonder Woman 1984 scored well in its first week of broadcast, namely US $ 16.7 million. It is the film's biggest gain at the North American box office amid the pandemic.

Even so, the film did not receive a good response internationally. China, the second largest film market, recorded US $ 38.5 million from the projected US $ 60 million.

In addition, Wonder Woman 1984 was released on HBO Max and 12.6 million subscribers are reported to have watched the film.

The release of Wonder Woman through theaters and streaming was marked by negative responses from filmmakers. But Patty Jenkins hopes that people living in a country where theaters are still open can support films by watching them in theaters.

Warner Bros. has yet to divulge a synopsis of Wonder Woman 3 and who will be joining the film besides Gal Gadot.
