Doctors Call, Prematur Baby Needs MORE Breast Milk For Better Body Immunity

JAKARTA - The intake of breast milk (ASI) is very important for premature babies because they need a lot of nutrition to support their development and growth.

"Prematured babies need breast milk more, because premature babies have immune system that is not ripe enough," said Dr. dr. Rinawati Rohiswatmo, SpA(K), neonatologist who is also the founder of the neonatal unit at RSCM, reported ANTARA.

By providing proper breast milk to prematurely born babies, it can meet nearly 100 percent of the nutritional needs of premature babies until the age of 6 months.

"No pregnant woman does not breast milk, and breast milk is also very valuable even though it's just breastfeeding. That's why breast milk is very important. I also realize that premature babies are very special," said artist Cynthia Lamusu.

Cynthia Lamusu, who is also the wife of actor Surya Saputra, now has two twins whose age is currently being trampled on by two years. According to dr. Rinawati, despite the modern era like now, the birth rate of premature babies in Indonesia is still high.

"Even though it is the era of digitization where all information can be easily searched for, the birth rate of premature babies is still high," he said, although he did not explain the exact number.
