JAKARTA - Limitations are not always an obstacle. As Arif Setyo did as a one-legged Breakdance dancer at the opening of the 2022 Badminton International final.

Arif started after a breakdance since 2005 when he still had two legs. In 2007, he had an accident that made him lose his right leg while still working in a plastic factory. Even though he had stopped dancing, his passion and love in the world of breakdance did not break his spirits. A year later, Arif actually got more and more active in practicing even if only one leg. Now he is the only b-boy in Indonesia with one leg.

One of the things that makes me still on the breakdance is because my passion is here. In addition, the movement can also be done with the convenience that we can explore. If it's a difficulty between before and after the accident, yes, because the breakdance movement is specifically for two feet, now I need adjustments. But it turns out that after doing it, it can still be done even with one leg," said Arif after appearing to open the final round of the FOX'S 2022 FOX tournament which took place at the Among Rogo Sports Center, Yogyakarta, on Saturday, August 27.

The 35-year-old B-boy has succeeded in stunning and boisterous the whole GOR with a breakdance of one leg accompanied by a number of songs, one of which is Yellow from Coldplay. Arif appeared for about five minutes in front of the athletes, referees, and spectators. Even though the breakdance was only one leg and assisted by a stick, the man from Malang, East Java, appeared confident in showing handstand expertise, turbo, and several other breakdance movements.

Being the opening stage before the final match of the international-scale badminton tournament began, became a matter of pride for the 2nd place in consecutive LA Street Ball BBoy Battle competitions at the East Java level in 2010 and 2011. Although often appearing in a number of national and international class breakdance competitions, for Arif this opportunity is a memorable moment that rarely happens.

What is certain is that I am very, very happy and proud to be one of the participants at the FOX'S Indonesia Para Badminton International 2022 event and was watched by many people and friends with disabilities. The hope can also be a trigger for fellow athletes who compete in the final. Hopefully, the Indonesian squad can win in many categories," he said in a release received by VOI.

Furthermore, the man who was born in Malang, East Java considered that Indonesia Para Badminton International 2022 is a place that is a positive for athletes from Indonesia and other countries, to show their abilities and make achievements in the sport of badminton. In addition, Arif hopes that Indonesia can continuously organize international-scale badminton tournaments, especially for athletes with disabilities.

The show is really cool. What is certain is that this is one of the containers for friends with disabilities they channel and develop their talents. Maybe it's one of their dreams to appear here. As much as possible every year it is regularly held. So that friends with disabilities who are involved in the badminton world can consistently channel their talents here," said Arif.

Hafizh wayesyah Prawiranegara, 1st Place of Men's Doubles SU 5 FOXS Indonesia Para Badminton International 2022 with Dheva Anrimusthi returning and appreciating the expertise displayed by Arif as a breakdancer. "It's cool, especially Arif is also disabled but can make maximum movements. He also indirectly gives encouragement to other and non-fabelial disabilities. So whatever our expertise is, it is honed so that later we can achieve what we want. Never give up, never give up, give up, and keep the spirit," he said.

The same thing was expressed by Syahmi Sabron as the Badminton Manager of BWF who was amazed to see Arif's action. He thought Arif was very capable of breaking andce even though he only had one leg. "It's very unique to break dance with one leg. I've never seen anything like this before. This is very special and very good. Besides that, it can also attract disabilities in the field of breakdance because it turns out that there is optunity," he said.
