Warner Bros. Release First Trailer For Tom And Jerry Animated Film

JAKARTA - Warner Bros Pictures released the first trailer for the animated film Tom and Jerry on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. This iconic cat and mouse character is starting to make his way onto the big screen.

This two-minute trailer features Tom and Jerry's adventures in New York City. The background story still uses the real world set as well as the human actors.

Tom and Jerry tells the story of Kayla (Chloë Grace Moretz), a hotel employee who arranges the grandest wedding ceremony at her workplace. However, he got the task to get rid of the rats in the hotel.

Kayla recruits Tom to help get rid of the mouse but a riot at the hotel puts Kayla's career, marriage and the hotel itself at risk. Besides, a worker at the hotel who was ambitious was about to fight the three of them.

Judging from the story and the trailer, Tom and Jerry brought the classic side that became the attraction of the cartoon. The script was written by Kevin Costello based on the story characters of Joseph Barbera and William Hanna.

Various television series and short stories Tom and Jerry have been released since 1940 but for the first time ever, Tom and Jerry was made in animated film format. Previously, the production house wanted to make this film format in the form of live action but in 2015, they decided to stick with the classic characters with animation.

Besides Moretz, this film stars Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost, and Ken Jeong. Directed by Tim Story, the Tom and Jerry film will hit theaters starting in 2021.
