JAKARTA - Punk rock unit from Bogor, The Jansen, launched their third album entitled Banal Makin Binal on July 29 yesterday. The album is available in three versions; compact disc, digital, and NFT along with demajors.

Along with the release of the album, the band, fronted by Cintarama Bani Satria (vocals, guitar), Adji Pamungkas (bass) and Aduy (drums) focused on the single work of Tipu Daya History.

“This song is an expression of doubt from various histories that are still being questioned in this country. Hopefully it will open the eyes and minds of many people," said Adji, the bassist, in an official statement received by the editorial desk.

Despite facing great struggles when expressing the arrangement of the new album in the studio, finally recording production was successfully completed for one semester in 2021.

Banal Makin Binal's digital album contains a dozen songs and an additional song called Planetarium on a later recorded compact disc format. Various stories are explored very freely and without distance.

The utterance of simple but sharp Indonesian lyrics is displayed strongly through the presentation of musical arrangements that are sure to penetrate the audience when performed live on stage.

“The Jansen echoes the longevity of friendship in an infinite scene, the role of community has always been a part of The Jansen's development until now. This is what makes us try to network between cities and countries that have been made easier by technology,” Adji added.

To complement the 'modern' passion of music enthusiasts, the band also released an album in NFT (Non-Fungible Token) format with 100 copies on the Cardano (ADA) blockchain.

Looking back a little. The Jansen came to the fore with a band name that was inspired by the song Hey Jansen by The Kuda, a Bogor punk band that graced the soundtrack of the film Rocket Rain, directed by filmmaker Anggun Priambodo in 2013.

Their infatuation with the song played a strong role as a decision in establishing the identity and formation of a group that carries mid-tempo 70s punk music since 2015.
