Call The Jakarta Border Prone To Pilkada Fraud, Pramono-Rano Timses: Usually Additional Voters Appear Unclear

JAKARTA - Secretary of the winning team Pramono Anung-Rano Karno Aria Bima said his party would strengthen witnesses and volunteers who would monitor polling stations (TPS) during the Jakarta Pilkada voting in the border area.

According to him, the Jakarta border area with buffer areas such as Bekasi, Depok, Tangerang, and Bogor has the potential for fraud from certain parties during the vote on 27 November.

Aria said that the mapping of this rigged-prone area was carried out based on experience during previous elections.

"Usually there appear additional (choose) cards that are not clear in these border areas. Because it is also possible for the next neighbor to be able to participate in voting, which is actually not a special resident of Jakarta's special area at this time," said Aria at the Pramono-Rano winning house, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday, November 24.

So, later witnesses from the Pramono-Rano candidate pair at the TPS will be deployed in layers on voting day. They are witnesses from the supporting parties, namely PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) and Hanura.

In addition, the Pramono-Rano timses will also deploy tens of thousands of volunteers who will oversee the voting process, ranging from members of the Betawi Rempug Forum (FBR), Betawi Children's Communication Forum (Forkabi), Putra Purnawirawan TNI/Polri Communication Forum (FKPPI), to Anies volunteers who are usually called Abah Children.

"The point is that we want to keep this election peaceful. So that it doesn't happen, if there is a movement later, we will secure it so that it remains peaceful rather than chaotic. We just pray that the situation in Jakarta is cheerful, already happy," explained Aria.

On the one hand, Aria hopes that the KPU, Bawaslu, TNI-Polri officers, ASN, and regional apparatus can guarantee that the implementation of regional elections can run according to the rules without any violations.

Bearing in mind, there is a decision on the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) number 136/PUU-XXII/2024 which changes the phrase in article 188 of Law Number 1 of 2018.

The ruling reads "every state official, regional official, ASN official, TNI-Polri member, and village head or other designation/lurah who deliberately violates the provisions as referred to in Article 71, shall be sentenced to a minimum imprisonment of 1 month or a maximum of 6 months and/or a fine of at least Rp600 thousand or a maximum of Rp6 million".

"Here we are not playing games, we are really prepared. We have heard that there are movements that tend to make this election atmosphere dishonest and unfair. But, until today we still have positive thinking," he added.
